Hi everyone. As my customers, or someone interested in working with me, you might have submitted some information about yourself (your name, surname, email address, and in some cases, shipping and billing address, and maybe your phone number). This is to tell you that I may be holding this information about you. The below sections outline how I collect, store and use any information you have given me.
Please feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Please note (important), that any ‘information’ I might hold about you only refers to your contact details. I am unable to see or have access to any financial details when you make payments using PayPal or a bank transfer (Nationwide Building Society) and can only see basic information about you. All sensitive financial information is held securely by the processing companies, and they never share this with me, or anyone else.
I do not send any marketing emails, and therefore do not use any mailing lists. The only time I will contact you by email is to discuss a project that was requested by you by contacting me by either direct email, the form on my website’s contact page, or facebook chat, where you specified to contact you by email.
My website was built on, and is hosted by Squarespace. They have cookies and their own analytics (Java Script in browser) enabled, in order to gather some basic data about the way you use my website. These are only used to gather information about how you use my website and services and to be able to improve these in the future.
To read more about Squarespace cookies, please visit: https://www.squarespace.com/cookie-policy/,
As I am a sole trader, it’s just me! I am the only person running this business, therefore the only one who will ever have access to any information you provide to me. Your information will never be passed to/sold/discussed with anyone else – I ensure all your information is stored safely.
As stated above, PayPal and Nationwide Building Society might also hold information about you if you make a payment.
I will only contact you at your request and with your consent – after you have given me your business card, requested to contact me through my contact form on this website, emailed me with a request/to enquire about a project, or specifically requested an email communication through Facebook chat.
The communications will last only until any business conversations are over and projects are complete – after that, I will hold your information for accounting and tax purposes for no longer than 7 years after contract completion, but will never contact you again until requested by you.
Gmail uses secure servers to store any emails you might send to me.
I keep an electronic version of invoices and quotes generated for customers on my laptop, which is protected with a password, antiviruses, and antimalware. I do not hold any spreadsheets with your details. These are kept only for accounting and tax purposes and have to be kept for 7 years from the date of the start of the project.
You have the full right to ask me about any information I hold about you – these will be given to you free of charge. You can also request your details to be deleted, amended or transferred. You can request any of this by emailing me at email@example.com.
If you follow any links to external websites from this site, I am, sadly, unable to ensure the security on these sites and you will have to refer to their policies.
Going over to my Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/MagdalenaCreative) also means that you need to make yourself familiar with their policies.
I operate, on my own, from 19 Foley House, Gregory Gardens, Northampton, NN3 2BF.
You can feel free to contact me by email, contact form or by post to the address above.
If you are unsure why all this has recently appeared on my website and many others, it is ONLY for your protection. The new laws basically ask for transparency – so that you always know who has your data and how they use them (and hopefully this means that none of us will have their data sold or misused!). There is more information about this here: https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr
